ISOCOM’s IS49 optocoupler is a popular hermetic ceramic device which has been used in several space applications, such as the Yenisey A1 geostationary satellite. Package styles include a 6-Pin LCC Package with solder dip options available, as well as a surface mount alternative, the 4N49.
The IS49 is a hermetically sealed, single-channel transistor optocoupler, composed of an infrared emitting diode and a silicon phototransistor. This particular optocoupler has a continuous maximum forward current of 50mA, CTR over 350% and a withstand test voltage of 1,000VDC.
ISOCOM Limited is an AS9100D and ISO9001:2015 accredited UK manufacturer for space and aerospace grade electronic components. All ISOCOM products are produced in our clean room, manufacturing facility in compliance with MIL-PRF38534 and MIL-PRF-19500 to ensure high-quality and radiation resistant electronics.
Some ISOCOM components, including the IS49 Family, CSM141A Family and CSM1800 Family, were selected and tested by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and The Fraunhofer Institute. This included irradiation testing, neutral irradiation testing and displacement damage measurements.
The IS49 was TID tested to meet the total dose levels of 150Krad(Si) and displacement damage tested to 1 MeV x 1013. This optoisolator operates within the full military temperature range of -55oC to +125oC to ensure that this component is suitable for the radiation harsh environments encountered in space applications.
This part is suitable for other various applications such as – space equipment and systems; aerospace applications; military equipment and systems; medical instruments; MOS/CMOS applications; logic interfacing; data transmission; power supply and modems.
